“Do not expect The Magazine to be any old gallery caff”

ES Magazine

“It’s light years from the traditional art world hospitality of clingfilmed carrot cake served in the vaults.”

Guardian Weekend

“The butter was so delicious I could have eaten it as mousse. It had been clarified then whipped, and had a nutty, burnt butter sweetness with a sprinkling of black salt – remarkable.”

“We spent the evening sipping on Tipsy Tea Cocktails and Breakfast Martini’s. Who knew marmalade was delicious on more than just burnt toast? The canapés were equally delectable...”

Inspirational Architecture

About The Magazine

at the serpentine sackler gallery

Forming part of the Serpentine Sackler Gallery in London’s Hyde Park, The Magazine was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid. Head Chef Emmanuel Eger's contemporary style of cooking, combined with Zaha Hadid's inspirational architecture, creates a distinctive dining narrative at The Magazine.

As the London division of the international premium caterer Kofler & Kompanie with culinary roots dating back to 1823, K&K London Ltd. brings innovative, high quality international cuisine to London and the UK.

The Magazine dining room features a flowing membrane roof, and columns that flood natural light into the room. Stunning glass walls also give the impression of dining in the surrounding garden, providing the perfect surroundings for Emmanuel’s cooking. Open from breakfast through to lunch and afternoon tea, The Magazine also serves weekend brunch.

The Serpentine Galleries are open Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 6pm and admission is free.

Following the opening in September 2013 of the Serpentine Sackler Gallery, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the Serpentine is now two contemporary art galleries in the heart of the Royal Park of Kensington Gardens in central London. Located a five-minute walk from each other over the Serpentine Bridge, together they present an unrivalled programme of acclaimed exhibitions and events throughout the year, including the world-renowned summer Pavilion commission.

The Serpentine Sackler Gallery gives new life to The Magazine, a former 1805 gunpowder store that is the namesake of The Magazine restaurant. It offers visitors 900 square metres of exhibition, restaurant, social and shopping space, and is a new cultural destination for London.
